Tech-Ghouls

About a year and a month ago I posted some pics of some "Ghoul-servitors". Now I've been adding some more love to them.

I have no idea what these are for... It's just fun to add bits and grey-stuff to them and paint-away!

Homegrown Storm Troopers

I started on this squad of Storm Troopers right after I finished the "Killteam"-squads. I wanted to see what it took to make regular Cadians into something that looked more like Storm Troopers. This is the result of that experiment.

Some added armor made from plasticard. Rebreathers from the Cadian HQ box and the googled heads from some Cadian heavy weapons teams. The backpacks are cut-down vox-caster backpacks.

New Daemonprince-build, "The Reaper".

I have had this one in the box ever since it was released. I couldn't really get myself to start building it, not before I had a clear picture of what I wanted it to look like. After some cutting, repositioning and green-stuffing I started the painting - and that's where I'm at right now...

Since the inside of the wings are still basecoated, black, the sculpted details are quite hard to see right now (they are to symbolise all the  souls that the "Reaper" has collected).

An axe or a sword was a bit to standard for this one, so I gave him a scythe - you can't be the "Reaper" without a good scythe!
The paintjob, so far, is a combination of GW Dheneb Stone and GW Ice Blue - for the skin. Shaded with a bit of GW Regal Blue and highlighted with a bit of GW Kommando Khaki added to the original mix.

A bit of Yarrick

Last week I started on this one. I'm not going to use him in any army and I'm going to mount him on a winter-styled base when it's finished.
I was aiming for a bit of a blue/pale/"winterish" kind of theme on this one.

The sash and the stormbolter and some other details still need some love before I start with the base.

Project Multitasking...

I like to multitask! It's good to mix your painting-projects - so you don't lose your interrest along the way. Right now I'm putting my main interrest into my Valkyria/Vendetta -flyer, but I'm also getting some job done on some other projects:
First up is my re-painted Space Marine Scouts. They used to be Blood Angels but now they're part of my Raptors Chapter Army:

There are still some details remaining, like eyes and hair on two of them. I'm also working on adding some more infantry to my Strom Renegade Army:

Last nights update

Finished up some painting last night:
I've had this one laying around for quite some time now, but I didn't really get around to finishing it until yesterday.

In my pursuit for inspiration I found the site Epicduckstudios.com. In the gallery I found an interresting paintjob of a Tau XV-Stealthsuit, switching into stealthmode. It led me to spend the whole of last night painting this one, it also gave me a chance to practice the lense-effect:

The Sister

I started this one a while back. I wanted to experiment with the goldcoloured armour, washes and stuff. So far the only thing that is missing is the completion of the hair, the face and the bionic eye that I greenstuffed on her right side. But this one mini that I'm not in any rush to complete. This is a "meditation project", one that I turn to when all other projects start to get on my nerves. Right now the backpack and the head need some more work, but I'll get there sooner or later.

Next step on my Nurgle Daemonprince.

Some more paint on my Daemonprince of Nurgle! My experimenting with the GW washes and some highlighting has gotten me this far in the process. I still have the arms to get going on, but that's a whole other issue. Here I started out with some watered down Gnarloc Green for the armour and some watered down elfflesh on the fleshy parts. I'm going for a blue colour on the cloth. Not really a "standard" colour with Nurgle but I like the blue, and the shadings you can do with it. There are still several boils and bruises that need some paint and in the end I think I need to re-base him. Just to add some sand to this base vould be kind of boring.

This summer that passed and the different projects.

This summer has been dominated by painting.

First up is the BaneBlade Tank, the biggest model I have ever taken my hand to. And I have to say that I'm pleased with the outcome - so far. I also had the chance to "field test" it during a small Apocalypse game at the local GW-store, and it kept up it's end more than well!

Not to forget is the former owner, "Imperial Tank Commander Zeus" who is still looking for his tank (without any success).

I also got a chance to start on my "New" Chaos Lord in Terminator Armour. I call it "new" because I've had it since it was released but I haven't got around to built it until now.

I'm really pleased with the powerweapon on this one. And I added a lot of stuff to the base, can you see the Nurgling?

I also got around to finish the "Hunter". The mini that I was thinking about entering into the National Painting Competition, but it wasn't finished in time. Well, now it's finished and here it is, accompanied by a Necromundan Razor Rat.

I have also added a new squad of Chosen Chaos Space Marines to my Death Guard army. And I have also started some reapainting and "reconstruction" work on some old Necromunda minis that I found stuffed away in a box some time ago. So this summer has been a productive period of time. The only distractions has been work, sleep, food and the occational raid to the local GW-store for paint and parts! But the "to do" list is still not finished... Instead more stuff has been added to it!

Trying out the washes!

Well, I got a flash of inspiration last night. So I started on my Nurgle Daemon Prince. A project that's been on hold since the beginning of this year. I was itching to try out the new GW washes on it. Right now, what you see, is the result of a black undercoat, the armor has been painted with Orkhide to get a dark green base and all the fleshy areas has been painted with Dheneb Stone. I wanted a pale, but not white tone to work with. Then I applied a first set of washes. Some Baal Red to the fleshy parts to bring a red/pink-tone into it. After that things just went crazy and another layer of washes was applied. Ogryn Flesh to the fleshy parts and some Badab Black to the armor parts.

Next step will be to add a first set of highlights with watered-down Elf Flesh to the most distinct of the fleshy areas. Detailwork will be added as I go along.

But right now I think the new washes has spared me a lot of time on this on. Next update will show how this one looks after just 4 hours of work. Stand by for an update!
